Qi Gong: EARTH ENERGY FOR WOMEN

This special medical Qi Gong was originally developed and perfected over the course of 1700 years by Taoists, Traditional Chinese Medical doctors and Qi Gong experts in China to feed the needs of a woman’s unique anatomy.
This Qi Gong set will help women to cultivate more of the Earth energy (female energy) that they naturally have in their bodies.  It moves the blood and generates female energy through a series of very gentle, conscious, easy-to-learn, and graceful Qi Gong movements.  This set works by discovering and connecting the positive energy in woman’s internal organs and systems to improve or maintain their functions.  It creates pelvic health which in turn helps women to balance their emotions and hormones to ease or arrest uncomfortable symptoms of menstruation or menopause, in all stages of their lives.  This Qi Gong set also promotes long range anti-aging and a healthy weight control without drugs.  The course is accessible for women of varying ages, any physical abilities and equally valuable to both practitioners and professionals.

The Three Treasures medical Qi Gong break through with its touches and emphasizes Qi flow through the 14 meridian channels, nurturing and cultivating the energy in three Dan Tian’s of the human body.  Taking in the Chinese concept of the harmony of the Three Treasures of the Heaven, the Earth, and Man, manifesting with 3 postures/movements for each group and total 9 sections of the set, each single of them focus on one or more meridian channels with a well designed Qi Gong posture/movement, as well as explained medically - that is simple enough for people who are interested in understanding the relationship of TCM and Daoist way of health  in Qi Gong, and clear enough for people who are simply interested in practicing Qi Gong to keep a great health, to balance the unbalanced physical or emotional conditions, gain power to against diseases and live well!

Self Defense for Women

This special self defense workshop addresses women’s need for defensive abilities both psychic and physical.

Practitioners in this workshop will be trained with clear methods and simple techniques both with mind and body to increase the necessary skills for women’s practical needs in daily life. Awareness, courage, generating internal power through relaxation, and effective physical techniques will be focused on in this workshop.

Women of all ages and with different physical and experience levels are all invited to join this workshop which is taught by a women instructor. You’ll be fully satisfied with this healthful way to lean the art of self defense.

Tai Chi Fan - 16 Movement Tai Chi Fan Form

Tina Zhang will teach this elegant Tai Chi Fan short form that is based on Traditional Yang Style and Wu style Tai Chi Quan (Taijiquan). Fan is a Chinese symbol of Royal power and the art of Chinese culture. Tai Chi Fan combines elegant yet functional Tai Chi movements with Fan techniques, used as one of classical weapons in Ancient times. The Fan applications will be taught and practiced in this weekend workshop. This 16-movement Tai Chi Fan form is graceful, easy to learn, and a great experience to develop the internal power of Tai Chi - An art you learn once and enjoy it your whole life.

Everyone is welcome, no experience required.

The Dao of Boxing

In this fun and productive evening students will learn the simple techniques and strategies of Western Boxing, infused with the principles and power development of Chinese Internal Boxing. Armed with their 2 stances, 9 punches and defensive strategies students will engage in a number of light, controlled contact, 2 person exercises. Through these exercises practitioners will be able to field test their internal principles under a bit of external pressure, practice contact competition as the most efficient method of "Be Here Now Meditation" and engage in the prime variant of stress relief. Join us for this unique evening of learning and enjoyment.

Soft Hands or Rou Shou

Frank Allen will teach the sticking, neutralizing and attacking sensitivity exercise of Ba Gua Zhang, which is known as “Soft Hands or Rou Shou”. This exercise reaches beyond the limits of Tai Ji’s Push hands and a Soft Hands practice raises the martial level of all Internal Arts practitioners while also acting as an explanation of the trademark techniques of the Internal Arts for students of other styles.

The afternoon portion of the Ba Gua Sword Day will both Introduce the techniques, principles and strategies of the Ba Gua version of this most classical Chinese weapon to beginners while also giving experienced practitioners of this weapon an opportunity to refresh their knowledge of the sword set and refine their sword techniques. In the evening session the practice of sword push hands will be introduced. This practice will allow practitioners of all Chinese Martial Arts to extend their sensitivity training beyond their body and through and around their weapon. The necessity of softness within straight sword technique will be made obvious as practitioners learn how to flow into a variety of attacks and float through defensive maneuvers. This is a workshop to enhance and refine the skills of all levels of sword enthusiasts.

Ba Gua as a moving I Ching

This workshop will explore the roots of Ba Gua Zhang as a circle walking practice of Taoist Moving Meditation. It will specifically focus on how Ba Gua Zhang physically and energetically manifest the eight basic patterns of change, which are symbolized by the eight trigrams of the I Ching, or Chinese Classic of Change.

Students will learn how working with those change patterns can help them to deal with change in their lives and how to experience the I Ching on physical and energetic levels as well as the more common intellectual study of the I Ching. This understanding of the roots of the art can be applied to all styles of Ba Gua Zhang and learned by all levels of practitioners.
